Anyone using this Rochester oil temperature gauge?

I have a relatively new Scott now that I ruined the capillary connection to the probe doing multiple engine dismounts. Scott was sold and more than doubled their price so I want to try the Rochester if the probe will seal.

I know there was a big discussion here of probe flange taper, leakage, ect., but couldn't find the thread.

Darryl, are you in a rush to order one this weekend? Just asking because I have an unused OTG at home (I'm gone this weekend), but can't remember the details of make/model. Bought it new from Spruce years ago. I had planned to use it for a temporary fix when the temp gauge quit working on my big 3 in 1 instrument, but got it sent out for a rebuild at Keystone before I put the new one in. I can check on Sunday night if you're interested. Make you a great deal if it will work for you.

Sure, rather buy it from you, but the Rochester is pretty cheap from Wag Aero at $51. (about 20 down from A Spruce.) No BIG rush here as I am monitoring the temp with a digital thermocouple unit right now.
Let me know what it is.

Yea, I just don't have a use for it, and somebody else should have it if it can be used. I'd ship to you for half that price. Let me check what I have and I'll send you a PM when I can.

Lloyd thanks for the info on the Rochester, let's see what Mike has for me. I am glad to know the Rochester will work easy, good information to have confirmed. This forum is really great.

Be sure to use the adapter that comes with the gauge. If you try to use a different one you're almost guaranteed a ruined probe. Don't ask em how I know...

(there are at least 3 different, incompatible adapters just for the Scott gauges...)
