With regards to the eBay ad.....Why are some of the pictures actually digital and the others are scans of photos?

To me that is a red flag.

I've been trying to sell two tachs on ebay for months and can't sell them. I guess no one is looking for Waltham tachs anymore.

        Richard,

You took the words right out of my mouth!

I'll never forget the time my dad was showing his '29 Pontiac at a car show and someone pulled up next to him with a chopped, rodded(ruined) 30 Pontiac. Dad walked over and quietly walked around the car, looked at the owner and said "that USED to be a beautiful and valuable car".

Shortly after I posted that message to the owner on Ebay, he replied to me asking me to tell him what all else was wrong with his plane. Before I could respond, he wrote back that he had sold the plane for $40,000. I didn't even bother to respond.

Not sure I believe that he got that out of it but we are due!

Glad I bought my '38 Taylor-Young when I did. Look what has happened to Cubs in just the last 3 years.

As of January 4 at 12:55 eastern time, it's still listed. I bet he doesn't even have an airplane. This looks a lot like a scam.

I have no doubt that he DIDN'T get anywhere near that amount. The guy is a moron! I just feel sorry for the poor sap that bought it, if it actually sold. One thing I am sure of, the guy didn't take it off the market to correct all the problems. I have seen morons before. Everyone of them was delusional. Best thing is to just walk away, because you aren't going to ever tell them anything.

Delusional? Us, people who buy and old project for more then it is worth, put way more work then we antiapated, way more money then we imagined possible, to end up flying 60 year old technology. When all we had to do was go to Barnstormers or T. A. P. and spend less to fly more,. Nah!!!

I will ALWAYS be in wonder of a piper j3. How they sell for so much money for what they are. Noisy, uncomfortable, slow. The one I had, my wife would not get in after the first ride. Hated it. The T-Craft and the Champ are my favorites and should cost MORE than the Cub in my humble opinion. JC
