Any thoughts as to what glue the factory used in 1943 on the L2(s). Aircraft in question has been stored inside since the war (yes you read correctly) . Yes the wing looks fine ... no loose glue joints etc... but still....... IF you have first hand non hearsay knowledge please respond. I have heard the casin glue stuff before... and if Casin then what ? just looking for an "official" " un-official" answer. Thanks !!

If there are no loose joints I'd use it. We flew a lot of L2's at the flight school and didn't have any issues. We did some repairing but never built a complete wing in the 25 years I was there. What ever they used stands the test of time.
Make sure the trailing edge is not rotten and the aileron well fits the aileron. The outboard end of the aileron will rub the rib as the wings age, so give yourself enough room there.

To my knowledge the casin or "milk" glue was used at the factory, many times the only thing holding the ribs together have been the nails used for clamping pressure. That was all due to proper storage. You should be able to see the white glue oozed out in places.Taylorcraft Foundation, Inc
