Just returned from the Antique Airplane Assocation fly in held from 9-1-10 thru 9-6-10 it was great with about 350 to 400 airplanes 90% were tail draggers from all over the US . Lots of beautifull biplanes , this year they had a Curtis Robin a 1920's vintage biplane used in a movie coming out called "Pearl" a story of a young 12 year old girl who started flying with Wiley Post in Oklahoma in the 20's, and became a barnstorming pilot, the actors were at Oshkosh, last month, They fly in is great and would recommend it to anyone within 200 miles or if you have the time even farther. Its at Blakesburg Iowa a private airport about 10 miles West of Ottumwa

It was a great weekend...several T-crafts there including Joel's. The total attendance was over 375 planes, in spite of the extreme crosswinds on Friday and heavy rain earlier in the week. I spent most of Friday and Saturday under the wing of my friend's Fairchild 24R. There were almost 30 Luscombes, nearly that many Aeroncas and descendants, and at least a dozen Cessna 195s just to mention a few of the more numerous marques.

Bill Murphy and his daughter stayed here last night on their way to Maine and filled me in on all the great times.... ( someday) .
