  • Jacking aircraft at lift strut attach point

I don't have the correct fittings or adapters to keep a floor jack from slipping off the gear legs when jacking it up to service the wheels/brakes. This being said, does anybody know if jacking at the forward lift strut attach point would stress the attach fitting or spar to much? I'm thinking it wouldn't since aerodynamic forces load the wing in that direction anyway. I notched a 2x12 perfectly and can just nestle it under my tie down ring, wrap my arms around the board and lift the wing right up (these T-crafts are light little guys aren't they??). On the bottom I made a simple H-frame to keep it from skidding out..piece of cake BUT I'd sure hate to crack or stress something. Thoughts???

Lift the wing and set it on a padded step ladder. Works fine.

I notched a 2 X 4 and did the same thing on my first T-Craft back in the '60s.
I have another notched 2 X 4 to use on my present T-Craft if I ever get wings back on it.

OK...it sounds like it's fine to lift at the wing. Thanks for the reply's. I figured it was ok, but it never hurts to consult the knowledge base here at the forum.
