  • Sholder harness length

I am having a set of sholder harnesses make for my BC12-D. The company who makes them needs a measurment from the cross tube just above and behind the seat to the middle of the breast plate area on a person sitting in the seat. This is the tube parallel to the aleron cables where most seem to attach the harness. My seat is out and without a way to sit in the seat its hard to measure.

any help would be appreicated. thanks

    Re: Sholder harness length

Laz, my shoulder harness strap measures 26-3/4 inches from the top of the cross tube to the center of the "bar" in each length adjuster(each of which in my setup, lays on a horizontal line through the dip just above the sternum) So much for anatomical description! The pilot in the picture is a bit lighter than I am. I'm about 5'-8" and 188 lbs. The arrow indicates where I measured from.

      I have a shoulder harness from Air Craft Spruce part # 3B-Y.page 184 in 2009- 10 catalog.
The Y starts right under the cross tube and it is not uncomfortable to ware.
The center of the metal clips are not perfectly in the center of the body as the lapbelt buckle does not center on the my body. Of about 1 1/4 "
      I have problems with what.
