    Is the short engine mount for the c-85 the same engine mount for the a-65?

    Yes, I believe it is. The later C-90 engines had the "Lord Mount" style and would require an adapter, but I think all the 85's fit an identical mount as the 65.

      Just upgraded my L-2 from A-65-8 to C-85-12 (with lightweight starter). Used the same engine mount with no adapters or modifications.

        The C90-14 uses the same mounts as the O-200. The -8 and -12 are the same as the earlier engines. (there was a C85-14, too, but no one has ever seen one, AFAIK...) No adapters necessary for the Lord mounts, but the engine will sit about 3/4" farther forward than one with conical mounts.
