There was a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Run Saturday west of San Antonio where the DOMINANT aircraft make was Taylorcraft...four of us showed up! Here is a pic of the four guarding a Citabria. Mark had the 2nd best hand...and paid for his gasoline over the 100+ nm run. The folks at 5C1 (Boerne Stage Airport) had their tongues hanging out as all of the tail draggers were lined up and taxiing to receive their 4th cards during the run! Great weekend...very hot with hangar temps at 107 degrees. Doc Of course it ended with this....

Dang, that is a pretty sight! And it sounds like fun too! What do you do, fly to destinations for each new card and then see who has the best hand when you all get back to the starting point? Sounds like something the guys in my EAA chapter would enjoy.
EAA Chapter 35 recently started doing this...50% goes to the chapter fund. You pretty much have the idea...$20 for three cards shown prior to flight...sealed card picked up at two other airports...another $5 gets 2 more open face cards dealt upon return...best 5 card hand wins 35% of pot, 2nd highest gets 15%. 1st place award this time was 20 gallons of gas by the FBO of the 2nd airport. It was a lot of fun...and we flew to another airport for a BBQ fly-in after the poker run. The best part was looking at my 8 o'clock and seeing a gaggle of taildraggers in trail. Doc

Sorry that I missed the run. I have recently become the proud owner of a 46 BC12D and I live in Bryan Texas. I didn't see anything on the calendar about the event, so if there are events or getogathers comming up in the area I would appreciate hearing of them.

Dave,
It was just a Chapter 35 thing... probably was disseminated all the way to Seguin at best
Consider yourself invited to Bulverde - 1T8 any time. Doc and I have three T-craft between us, and there are a goodly number of Tribesmen up and down IH35.
I'm doing a Luscombe annual this Saturday - come have lunch.
thanks a bunch for the invite but, i can't make it this weekend. i would like to meet you guys and take a look at other T-Crafts. there a few things on mine that arn't quite right. for instance, there is no cover on the bunge cords and i'm not sure about the gap between the landing gear and the last horizantal member of the fuselage.
