Re: Tying-out Year-round in New England??

So, let me get this straight...

The plane outside needs new wings; the plane in the hangar is totaled???

Sounds more like "The house always wins"...

Actually, a friend of mine had a similar incident; his wings collapsed under a snow load. Usually, the wind seems to blow the snow off, or at least limit the accumulation. Putting the tail up may reduce this effect, hence be undesirable...

I know that at my hunting camp in the Adirondacks in up state NY I have seen 18 inches of snow drop in 4 hours---numerous times, but I am in a snow belt area up there, I wouldn't have a chance of cleaning the snow off the wings.
Also would like to add it would only take 1 freezing rain storm and we have had a few up there where accumlations of 1 inch would ruin your day
