  • main fuel cap replacement

Has any one tried using the Univair Piper fuel gauge assembly U71041-000 as a replacement for the main fuel cap? http://univairparts.com/shopping/pro...ducts_id=11847 Or does any one know where you can get a replacement?
    Cheers

we did and it fit fine. Had to trim the rod to the proper length but otherwise a direct replacement.

Try a tractor dealer if nothing else for one with out pipe and fuelgage for then you leave the plane out side.

Just as a side note. I have been runnng in a lot of rain lately and I get water into my tank as I fly. It must be coming in around the wire. It will leave about an inch in the test tube everytime. All the more reason the check that fuel EVERY time I pre-flight.

I have the Univair Piper float gauge. It works great, but fuel will volatilize out around the wire if you are not flying regulary.
