  • Back to welding

I had promised myself that my welding on the fuselage would be completed by the beginning of winter. It was not to happen; I did however get it primed with two part epoxy. Today I finished welding the tailpost; sandblasted some rust off and coated it a 1:1 turp/mineral spirits mix to act as a temp rust retardant.
Tomorrow I"ll flip her over and begin replacing the rotten cluster. Maybe this can be completed in a month. - MikeH

      Re: Back to welding

Hi Bob - well, it looks like the last foot of the fuselage! I"ll see if I can post something, but today will be iffy. We've got thunderstorms coming in during the PM and I can see a breeze and clouds rolling in. I want to cut the outer splices patches for the lower longeron (in anticipation of replacing the rotten cluster) and I want to fit the longeron itself. Slowing that down is my own requirement not to make noise until noon on Sunday; however I can mark tubing as much as I want, so that's what I'm doing until noon - Mike
