But large quatities of ash in the air block the sun from heating the atmosphere which cause a cooling effect which can lead to more glaciers which can lead to an ice age. ERGO: global warming and more eruptions result in global coolng and an ice age.
On another note, the Mayan calender ends in December 2012. Bees are dying at an alarming rate so pollenization is declining. Many frog species are dying off due the spread of a fungus. The Eastern diamondback rattle snake is declining in population. The rain forest is being destroyed at an alarming rate. There are other things happening around us. Maybe they knew more than we give them credit for.
