A couple of us from Nome are going to be there. I think it would be neat to meet some fellow T-Crafters and put some faces to the names. Maybe we can meet up at the burgers and brews thing.
I hope to be there, depending on the weather. I think there were three T-Craft there last year and Pete Rentamaki (sp.?) even competed in the short take-off/landing with his super-T. Jim Brewer is also going I think, so we should have a good T-craft turnout. Will you be coming through Anchorage on the way? If so, maybe we can get together here first.
I'm planning to be there and looking forward to the fun! Dot...finish up that "project" of yours and fly it down!
Bill, I'm planning to fly my F-19 up to Nome in April (weather permitting) for a little reunion with my old stomping grounds. Maybe we can get together for Milano's Pizza while I'm there!
I would love to make it to Valdez again. Last time I was there I even competed in the LSA competition for kicks and grins. I don't know if I can work it out in my schedule this year though.
My wife and I are planning on meeting her Dad in Anchorage for the Airmans show. Then driving up to his place in Fairbanks for a few days and then we'll head down to Valdez for the show there.
If a meeting place is decided upon I'll keep a watch on this thread for any plans.
AKBrew - that's the plan; I'll be back on the 23rd with the full-time job of putting her together & getting her annualed! I'm not planning being done by May Day, though - I may be persistent, but I'm not that good!
OK...it looks like we are going to have a nice contingent of Taylorcaft folks at Valdez so we will definitely have a little gathering planned. Stay tuned for time and detail! FYI...anyone within reach of the Anchorage area we will have another fly-in BBQ at Skwentna on Sunday May 16th from 2:00-5:00. Hope to see you in Valdez, Skwentna, or both!
Sadly, it appears they have eliminated the "light bush class" so we would be up against 180hp Super-Cubs in the "bush class". (Under 1500lbs GW...ie BC-12Ds...would be in the "Alternate Bush Class") I guess that happens when you have a class with only 2 entrants in 2009, and they both have prop strikes and DQ!
As for me, I'm just happy to get off the ground and land without bending anything!
I'd like to go, and if I do it will be in the back of a C-130. I still lack the confidence to cross open ocean between Kodiak and Homer in my aircraft.
