    Hi Eric,

Did you try heating the tube(s) with a torch to remove it?

Maybe to a dull red or brighter, don't heat the middle so much that you melt the braze.

Let it cool then try to remove the shaft. Remove any burr from the end of the shaft so they don't hang up.

If that does not work you might have to heat it up and try to remove while hot.

The rod is a 3/16" steel rod. Make a new one from an an3 bolt or a piece of 1/16" steel rod.

    Dave.

      Eric,

This would be a good place for a picture of what you have. Some heat will certainly expand the tubes the shaft goes in. But you haven't said if your gear has fabric on it or not. If it does, heat is going to probably cause problems with any fabric. The bellcrank is just a small triangle on a shaft held onto the gear by a short piece of tube welded to the larger landing gear tube. I think if you drench both ends with penatrating oil and just wait, like overnight, you should be able to tap the ends of the rod with a tiny hammer until it comes loose. Don't use a large hammer, and don't hit very hard. Let the oil do it's majic. If you have compressed air, you might try blowing into the small tubes where the shaft goes. On stuff like this, patience can be a virtue.
