  • Low Level POV video over Salt River

got a new POV (point of view) camera for Christmas. it shoots 720p and 1080p video. Small and light at only 4 ounces. Fits to a headband so you shoot what you see.

Did some flying over the Salt River today.... fun! Next I'm going to mount the camera to the top of the rudder.

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

    Hey DJ,

Video looks good. Are you going to try it on one of your mounting systems? I'm taking a close look at the Hero HD Wide Motorsports camera. It has lots of mounting options and the demos are impressive. My dad has the Standard Def version and gets good results with it.

      Hi,

Just ordered that very same model with the motorsports package for use in my F22A and 1960 MGA Roadster so will be able to see how it goe's in aircraft and sports car! I guess I will struggle with the TV and computer imput to begin with! It's due to arrive tomorrow and superb flying weather for a change in Wales (UK ) at the moment so can't wait to get started! I am interested to know how Forum people manage to get music on their films?

Robert, if you need any more rust for that MGA, I took all mine out over the past 9 years. Of course thats a lie, its never all out.

Just got this back from British Car Service in Tucson 2 weeks ago. In 2000 I bought it, drove it 2 miles to a coffee shop and back to the shop and handed them the keys. And all my money.

I know the weather sucks in this photo, hopefully we will get some proper English weather this weekend.

Well I know we are high jacking this thread but my buddy and I took a Triumph TR-3 from NW Illinois to Jacksonville FL. in 1967. Sitting in the seat I could put my hand flat on the ground outside the car. I had no idea what an adventure we were getting into but look back with fond memories now. We were in the Navy at the time and I am sure I am at least 2 inches shorter now because of the ride. Imagine riding a buck board or a hay wagon for 1,300 miles.

              DJ,

really nice video! That view of the Salt is great! I guess there aren't too many tube-rs on it this time of year.

What sort of a mod did you do on your window to set the bottom latch free like that? The window seems to fly pretty well! I'd like to put some sort of quick-release pin in there but mine's riveted and I can't think of how to make it work.

Great pictures, Looks like old English white? mine is a Mark1 as well but Iris Blue and probably one of the best in the UK which has never been restored! Have owned it for many years and had a 1962 Mark2 before that in the same colour. The weather in the picture certainly sucks! have to keep my car in garage in an air circulating plastic bubble in the winter cos of the Damp and sea air!

You could do with a period Motorolla radio in the dash?

ya know... what's funny is just 10 minutes before I started shooting that video I had the window open as much as the latch would allow... then all of the sudden the window flew open. Apparently a screw that held the two latch pieces together worked it's way loose allowing the window to open up. Reminded me of when I used to fly SuperCubs. The windows can be latched up on the wing in the Cubs. As long as I had the power setting at about 1600 rpm or higher the window would stay open.

I'd like to see what it would take to put a latch on the wing like Cubs to keep it open.
