    Re: what NEW T-crafts parts do you want to obtain in the next 24 months ?

    Dave... I found it. It was a thread titled "replacement parts sources". On 5/22/2008, UNIVAIR posed the same question... perhaps you can go look it up and include the input from that thread also on your list. See below for link to the thread...

    p.s. this is a good idea and should really help us identify not only what parts are in demand, but where to go find the ones that are available.

          Current tally;

          approximately 127 items to order (oops I counted drap wire nipples as one item so its 127 + items)

          about 109 unique part numbers

          approximately 2 or 3 dozen are available from current sources based on my memory

            How about wing ribs, wing spars, fuselage and some landing gear with stright axles or a conversion kit.

              major wing parts; ribs, spars, leading edge transition pieces, wing tip bows. Like Bill I would like landing gear w/ straight axles and or conversion kits.

                I will need to get new lift struts as per the AD that we have Harry to thank for. BY THE WAY, I just googled up Taylorcraft and read about someone in Florida taking over the Taylorcraft factory. Is this legit, or is it just more of Harry's games? Brie

                  Brie if you have good struts , you do not have to buy new ones. I beleive it is Wag Aero that has the right to rebuild yours and make them sealed and comply for a lot less money. Marv

                      True, but with a shot bag, set of dollies and hammers, an English wheel etc. I could build (or repair) the rest of the parts as well. At times it's satisfying (or necessary... don't we all know that) to build the parts, but sometimes buying them is the better course of action (for me at least)

                        Marv,
                        THAT would be GREAT! Mine seem to be fine, the aircraft was completely disassembled in 1997, and rebuilt, airframe, engine, everything over the next three years. I was going to spend the "big bucks" and have whatever Alaska airframes is called now send me a pair of 4130 struts, but if Wag Aero can rebuild mine, then I can get legal a lot sooner. Brie

                          I just checked with the Wag Aero webstore, and there is no mention of them rebuilding the lift struts for Taylorcraft wings. Brie

                            Brie if it is not Wag Aero it is Univair. It was discussed on this forum. I am not the only one that knows about a company rebuilding them for you. Marv
