  • installing a metal prop?

My wooden prop started to fall apart this last weekend and I am borowing a metal 70-42 from a friend. This is my first time working with a taperd shaft type engine (A65 stamped 75) The metal bushings I pulled out of the back side of the wood prop are a little short in the metal one. How important is that? My engine and airframe parts manuals do not give specific instructions on the assembly or specify differences between wood and metal props. Is the only change between wood and metal the lenght of the bolts and torqe spec? My local IA is unavailable for a while.

PS - I would like a 74" metal prop if anyone has a spare for sale.

I would put it on and try her ; you will find that prop turns way too fast..... that prop goes on an A-75. Use the bushings to try her should not hurt anything ......... Publicious
