  • Make A Jury Strut Fitting

After much frustration trying to find a commercial pipe nipple that would work, I figured it would be just as easy to make this part. I plan to make a few if I can find some spare time. About $20 will get you enough 4130 tube and plate to make eight or ten of these.

I made a set of four for my BC12-D. At the time none were available at the factory. For the record my plane had two distinctly different ones. Despite what the factory drawing shows one did not have the Threads cut along the entire tube. This made the welding to the bracket much more sound and secure. I will look for pictures of mine when I have time. The hardest part was bending the material with a nice radius. I made a die to do the job in a vice.
