  • engine data plate

The engine data plate on my Continental A65-8 has been painted over. I can read the numbers that have been stamped into the plate and guess what most of them are. But some numbers adn markings I'm not sure about. Does someone have a picture of what that data plate should look like? Maybe I can find a way to "silkscreen" high-temp paint onto that data plate of mine. Thanks, Bob

    Data Plate

New data plates are available at reasonable costs (dispite what some guys are getting for them on e-bay)

Some people have just gotten a new one (now in aluminum) and had the old data engraved on the plate. My plate got bead blasted when I had the case yellow tagged and that's what I had to do

e-mail me offline if you are interested

One trip through the stripping tank and all that's left is bare aluminum and the stamped numbers. Bet there's nothing under the paint...

All you need are those numbers. Do you have a log book that matches. The rebuild shop could come up with the new plate....or Teledyne Continental .... I have a local source too. If you want a brand new official plate you can get them . All you really need are the original ser numbers.
