  • static line in the wing

    I'm just getting ready to cover the wings on my 46 BC-12D. Is the static line supposed to terminate about a foot inside the wing? That's the way mine is now. Just next to it is the pitot tube that runs out and ties in to the one welded on the jury strut.I was wondering if a piece of tubing was missing that would vent the static line near the jury strut or elsewhere. Seems that inside the wing is not a good place to get a static pressure. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Bob

    static line

    Yep that is where she terminates.... If you are selling the plane bend it back a bit & she will cruise faster. If you are buying one bend her forward and tell the seller he sure has a slow Tcraft.

    Seriously if you are staying VFR that is as good a place as any, no icing, no bugs and if it was not hooked to the back of the airspeed and altimeter the altitude & airspeed would vary as you open the windows or doors.....

      Thanks Forrest! That was the last question (that I could think of) before I covered that wing! Bob
