      You might also point out that most GA airports are zoned commercial. If the airport closes, a developer could build warehouses, strip malls, etc.. This leads to lots of traffic and more noise than a few planes occasionally. It also brings a different class of people. Aviation people tend to be more responsible and considerate than the general population, at least in Texas.
