Vertical Card Compass

Have any of you installed a vertical card compass? Does anyone know if you can mount one in the instrument panel like an altimeter or airspeed indicator? I was looking at them online and they only showed them mounted to the glare shield or a windshield post.

I mounted one in the panel of my Pacer, not a T-Craft but lots of tubes around the panel and was able to get it swung.

Installed one in my old '56 172, on top of the dash. Works as smooth as a DG. As far as mounting in the panel, there's probably a reason most of them are on the dash or windshield posts. Maybe that hunk of steel 'H' bar connecting the yokes to the elevator moving back and forth could affect them??
