Essco should have the manual => http://www.esscoaircraft.com/ or Fresno Airparts.

    Doesn't your A&P have a manual?

        Re: bendix sf4rn internal timing

I have a 'Service parts list' and 'user operating instructions' but not a service manual that I could scan if you want them. I downloaded them somewhere and may still have pdfs.

The mags on ours have just been stripped and checked then rebuilt. I got condensors and replacement terminal insulators from Aircraft Spruce plus some NOS points from a friend.

I thought that there were marks showing where the gear aligned - a dot if I remember correctly. Aren't the bolts assymetric so it only fits one way anyway? There is a notch on one tooth as the timing mark that goes to the pointer side.

The big mistake I made, and it might fool anyone used to modern mags, was to connect the leads from terminal 1 to cylinder 1 etc. The little white disc labels are the firing order, not the cylinders. That had me going for a while.

I have a service manual for SB and SF4,5,6 magnetos.

I thought that Fresno had them too.

          Fresno has spare parts.

They will sell you a rebuilt Mag for $375 exchange and I think you get a new harness and plugs with that.
