  • Frankenmuth, Michigan Fly-in August 22-23

    Howdy folks!

I want to cordially invite each and everyone of you to Frankenmuth, MI Saturday August 22 - Sunday August 23 for a down home grassroots fly-in/camp-in!

Frankenmuth is a 2500' grass strip, identifier is 66G. We will be having dinner Saturday at 5pm, awards at 530pm and a bonfire! Breakfast will be Sunday morning. Fuel is not available but there is fuel at Saginaw Browne (HYX) 10 miles north.

Showers and lav facilities are onsite.

Hailed at "Michigan's Little Bavaria", the town of Frankenmuth is a nice little tourist destination. There is a huge Christmas store (if that is your thing), and there is always a festival going on. There is a shuttle from the airport into town as well. So, bring your significant other on a "date" and wind up at the airport! http://www.frankenmuth.org/?Home&page_id=1

If anyone has any questions, or if you just want to say hi, please call me at 989-525-3161

    See yas!!

      Eric!

I didn't use the skiis...instead I blasted them and painted them up. Then I took them to the original owner and had him sign them with a paint stick. I paln on hanging one in my hangar and one in my garage!!

So far I don't need another set..unless they are in good shape, have the rigging and a teflon bottom! I seem to be filling my garage and hangar with enough Taylorcraft parts (if you can) for now!

Take care and hope to see your Beautiful '38 at 66G!

I wish I could make it. A tornado hit my hanger & did a little damage to the '38. And yes these have teflon bottoms. Thanks Eric

Oh crap! Hopefully not too much damage to your plane. That is first priority, to get it fixed. What kind of skiis are they? Straight 1500's or A's?

Yes these have plastic bottoms, but no name plate & I'm not sure what the rigging is for. Thanks! Eric

The Fly-in/camp-in was a huge success!!! Thanks to Larry Bugg for flying his 1940 T-craft in! He won the award for "Oldest Aircraft". Attached are a few pics from the fly-in. Hopefully we can make this an annual event and we can innedate the grounds with Taylorcrafts!

              Safe travels everyone!
