I listen in on the BearHawk folks in hopes of picking up welding tips.
There is some interest being generated for a welding workshop to be conducted in October in Anchorage. It will be conducted by Kent White of TinMan fame.

If this was within a couple hours drive from DC I'd take the course in a heartbeat.

I just got off the phone with Kent White concerning the upcoming aircraft metalworking and welding workshops he is proposing for us here in Anchorage. Go to:

to learn more about Kent's abilities and workshops. On the left hand side of the home page, you will find an "Education" heading with class descriptions, testimonials and more.


Proposed dates and workshops are as follows. These may be adjusted according to demand and interest, so feel free to voice your preferences. For instance, if there is a greater interest in 4130 welding, he may substitute this for one of the other classes.


Thursday, October 8th, 8:30-5:30: Repairs to Aluminum Panels


Friday, October 9th, 8:30-5:30: Fabrication of Basic Aircraft Sheet Metal Shapes


Saturday, October 10th, 8:30-5:30: Gas Welding, Brazing, Soldering Aircraft Aluminum Sheet.


We will break each day from 12:30-1:30 for lunch (not provided). Classes are $200 per day. $100 deposit by September 8th reserves your spot. However, first deposits in, first served. Classes are limited to 10 people. Classes will be held at Bob's Services, Inc. (space graciously donated by Bill Brown) just off Reeve Blvd., 2009 Spar Ave. You will see from the web site that Kent usually charges $345 per day for his workshops, so this comes to us at a bargain price.


To register, reply to this email with your intent and desired workshop(s), as well as send me a check, (made out to Kent White), for your $100 deposit per class to the address listed below. Remember, first come, first served.
