  • Clayton STC; about those tabs?

While the bird is naked, I'd like to weld in the tabs required by the STC, although I have yet to purchase the STC.

Can someone describe how the STC describes locating the Tabs? - Mike

my tabs just welded to the "X" frame, and I removed the stringer brackets. Iwill try to look up the mjeasurements tonight. My tabs came WITH theSTC kit, and are round screw tabs.

I too would be very interested in the specs needed to do the STC. If there are no more kits, maybe we can just get the STC and do the rest of the build our selves. My fuselage will be bare by the end of the summer I believe. Larry

I purchased and installed a Clayton kit in March you may want to call him and see if he has any more kits. When I talked to him he just got done climbing Mt.Kilimanjaro so he seems to be healthy. I would get confermation from him that he is no longer produceing kits before fabricateing parts for his STC.

I've order a kit; he says he's finished mountain climbing and is designing a tcraft with fowler flaps.

He's still in the kit business - Mike

Since you'll be working with an uncovered aircraft, when you weld the posts for affixing the plexiglas, consider also welding tabs for the rear wooden "bow" similar to the tabs that hold the front one in place.

Without the drawings how will you know how long to make the four small posts that weld onto the X tube overhead? I believe the front ones are shorter than the rears.
