              Re: Alliance fly in

For the first time in 37 years, I attended the Old-Timer's Breakfast after flying around it ( this year I used the original prototype Model A Taylorcraft. ) WE all drove in to join "Duke" and the gang. Just marvelous. thanks to Patty; Dave Whitaker & Judy and Ryan Newell and son-in-law Dave ; I was able to leave the field. A few tears were shed as we honored our friends who ahd Gone West; Darrell Romick, Sandy Slifkin, John McClane and of couse Bob McGrath. There was a special table in their honor with empty chairs and dark roses........ Back out to the field for another great time ; I got to fly Leisa Marie and many were amazed again at her performance. BC12D clipped to 29 ft and 180 HP ; Standard Category.
Oh well , off to Air Venture ( maybe!!) I have been very busy getting others on the way. Lots of ships going west and fueling up. Damn TFR's popping up again. CLE & Chicago. I am sorry the President has never got out with the common folks in Aviation to understand this crap!!
