  • Sitka "checkin"

Alaska Tribe, I'm down in Sitka for about 5 days...Youngest son is graduating from the Alaska Police Academy. Ran a search on the name "Sitka" on the Taylorcraft forum search feature. Shayne Snyder came up...talked to a floatplane operator down on the docks...he said Shayne had sold his plane...it's now in Anchorage...but he thought I might enjoy talking to Ron Handerson, who is recovering a BC12D-85. Located Ron at his auto body shop...he has the Taylorcraft stripped down ready to start cleaning things up, has 3 PA12s, 5 Luscombes...has recovered about 70 airplanes....so we talked some serious airplane talk...had a great time...will be back in Nikiski this week. This forum is really something...the connections are priceless. Oh, also, I ran into an lady here in Sitka, who is from from Bethel, Alaska...She says Amos, the new aircraft mechanic out there for Grant Aviation, will know all about the "honeybucket" system soon, very soon!!

This wouldn't be the same "Ron Handerson" that used to live in WA, would it?
