The bushing shown in the attached picture of Capt. Jon’s new tailpost appears to come from his old tailpost; it looks as if he cut well around the bushing and simply welded the old bushing/tube combo to the new tailpost. That would certainly make the fitting easier.
However (assuming the tube thickness to be .035), wouldn’t that put the alignment with the upper bushing (mounted on the vertical stabilizer) off by .035?
