  • sandblasting, priming and repairs

I know of two areas on my fuselage that will require major welding. There may be other areas, yet undiscovered.

If I send the fuselage out to be sandblasted and primed, will the primer obscure the areas that need repair? - Mike

First of all Mike, get the repairs that you know you'll need done before you send it to blasting. Inevitably there will be some small things that may need some attention just after blasting (the blasting will make them show up better), so I always bring it home and do my own priming. Yes, the primer may cover up something that should be attended to, in my opinion.
