I got an e-mail yesterday from HG Frautshy at EAA who told me that Alcor is starting to make TCP again, and it should be available from the usual outlets soon, after a two year absence. Apparently one of their suppliers stopped making one of the ingredients, and they had to find another ingredient that would do the same thing, and then have the product re-certified.

I heard that they moved the factory and had to go through California EPA hell getting set up for production. Who knows?

I'm a believer. I'd recommend it for any engine that was certified for 80 octane gas, expecially if that engine family has a problem with stuck valves or plug fouling.
No detremental effects other than it isn't free...
100LL contains a bromide compound that is supposed to perform the same function. Unfortunately, our engines don't always generate the heat and presure necessary to make the reaction happen, hence the problems.

I know of someone who calims to have obtained some last fall from LindaLou. Unconfirmed. I used to get it from Chief Aircraft. TCP is made by Alcor and they have a web site and contact info if you're really interested and cannot get any info elsewhere.
They sell a "starter kit" that includes a quart of magic elixir and a syringe like thing to measure it with. I forget the mixing ratio, but it works out to a couple of ounces per tank full.
