  • For engine guys

I could just hand my jug over to the overhaul shop, but I have this thing called curiosity. I am trying to find what caused the excess oil problem and make some measurements to determine the overall condition of the jug.
Having trouble getting the exhaust valve out of the jug. This is a C-85. Valve was apparently functional until I tried to remove it, then it stuck in the guide. Any tricks that will work? It can be "tapped" down flush and back up, but no further. Two kinds of break-free didn't help and I have pretty much reached my brute force comfort limit.

Measure the end of the stem. It may be mushroomed, making it to large to fit through the guide. George

It's out now. Seems the solvents were working.
      Thanks,
