I had to purchase a heatmuff from Univair (very pricey) as my exhaust system did not have one. The new heatmuff was nicely built, but was put together with #4 PK screws and Tinnerman plates. Interestingly, the heads were down, the Type-A screws were sharp, and it looked impossible to be able to repetively take this apart foir inspection in a reasonable fashion. Here are some photos of Mark's solution to split the muff, make sleeve and flange fitting tabs, and the reinstallation with SS hoseclamps. Anyone made one of these in a resonable fashion? Doc

...yeah...reminded me of when I was staring at the spar blanks knowing they were not going to shape themselves. As I said...very pricey... DocDoc TF #680

Re: Modification of Univair Heatmuff
Make clamps from 1/2" wide aluminuim strips and use 8/32 screws instead of the hose clamps. The hose clamps has a dendency so eat the aluminium from vibaration.
Looks similar to mine otherwise.
