  • My New Website

This is 90% shameless self-promotion and 10% applicable to the T-craft world.

I've launched a website to promote my grantwriting, sales writing, and business communications services. The address is http://www.grantstar.net (not .com or .org, couldn't get 'em).

There are also several aviation stories and what-not, a lot of which involves Taylorcrafts, so it genuinely may be of interest to T-craft folks. There are or will soon be photos, some of which are T-craft related too. (Of course any of you who know someone who needs a non-profit org. grantwriter... feel free to pimp me out to the world by sending them a link !)

Feedback is welcome, either here or off the Forum via the contact link on the website.

Thanks Bob, that was a piece I did as a "sample article" for a magazine that wanted to come out and do a piece on our Young Eagles program. They sent out an actual writer/photographer named Chad Slattery, who did a very nice piece and photos for Sunset Magazine. So my article was never published. If I ever scan the slides he gave me I'll put up the photos... we cantilevered his camera out in front of the jury struts on a stick, I took a 14 year old girl flying, told her when to press the shutter release, and we got some fantastic photos over the Pacific Coast and Malibu beach. It would have been a lot better if I'd had one of DJ's super-bitchin' camera mounts, but alas this was 1995.

I apologize, the poetry links are not up yet and lots of photos are still in the works.

          Re: My New Website

Bill I lived in Honolulu Hawaii in the early 70's and was introduced to the son of ????? Sorry can't remember who, but one of the macho stars of the 60's. (Kirk Douglas, Cary Grant, Rock Hudson, etc.) He lived in a very nice apartment, no visible means of support, and so badly spoiled that we ended up only meeting a few times. He was so lonely and down trodden (think boring here) I felt sorry for him but we could not get him out of his shell. He would have been about 25 at the time and should have been enjoying life as much as I was. Didn't happen and we each went our separate ways. I watched for several years to see if he made good in TV or the movies, anything. Never heard from him again. So for you to get through it to here as well as you have is a testament to what I knew and stated earlier. Wish you and I lived closer, I like your style. By the way, to show you I am not the sharpest pencil in the box I did not make the connection between you and Milton till I went to your web site! Duh........ Larry

Well, that's part of the 90% that has nothing to do with T-crafts It has defined so much of who I am to people elsewhere, that being just another opinionated airplane guy here is a reward of its own.

And I don't think they pick out the dull pencils to be crew chiefs on Crusaders!

                Re: My New Website

Bill: I enjoyed reading your new website as well as your always interesting posts. Not many of us would be so bold as you to post experiences and feeling about growing up in a celebrity family (I didn't). I had to spend a couple of weeks at Ft. Lewis Washington when I came back from Korea in the early 50's. I met Gary Crosby then and we hung out going to movies and playing pick-up basketball games. He talked with me about the trials he experienced growing up in his famous family.

I'm from Iowa but winter in the Phoenix area. I miss my '40 BC-65 back home but am fortunate that DJ Vegh (of camera mount fame!!) is willing to take me flying here in his '46. I also have gotten to know "Bobdog" out in Gila Bend. He said he drove over and talked with you a couple of years ago.

I'm off to Amazon.com to see if I can buy a copy of your book. Best wishes.

Your website is great, Bill. As always I look forward to you postings here. I'm hoping that I'll be able to do a coast to coast flight in my TCraft and see you at Whiteman soon. I got my private there 53 years ago.

Try eBay first, it will cost you a LOT less...
