  • 43122 is back in service!

This time I suspect it will be for a well deserved long time. As some of you know we got 43122 a little over 2 yrs ago. Our first annual was a dreadful experience. The endeavor took 5 months to complete and thou$ands. Then last July we encountered a few issues that required the airplane be taken apart and brought to the house to work on.

Looks and feels like a new plane. Rejuvenated the dope, repainted most of the fuselage, re-did some of the interior, new brakes and a few other projects. But I feel confident that with all the work we've done to this airplane over the past year we'll finally be able to amortize those expenses and long hours of work over several years of trouble free flying. As long as the engine holds up we're golden. Engine has 158 hrs SMOH so I suspect we'll be good for a while.

The first flight today had me just a touch apprehensive but went without a hitch. In fact here's a video of the flight.

once around the pattern at CHD. 1st flight in 7 months after the plane was removed from service for some restoration work.

Now... to finish up that pan/tilt camera gimbal for some great aerial HD video.

try again... for some reason Vimeo has defaulted to making my videos private upon uploading.

        Link will work now.

Congratulations on getting it back in the air... now I just hope the airplane doesn't take offense to you towing it around at 50 MPH on it's gear. Next time you have to take it somewhere by road you can borrow my trailer
