  • Ethanolated Fuel Additive ??

    For what its worth.
I came across an interesting item in a model magazine. Folks using small gasoline power engines (2 cycle) in R/C models, are having big issues with the wonderful (green planet) ethanol, not only gives poorer milage but messes up engines, tanks, plumbing, etc.
A solution mentioned was the use of a product from Aircraft Spruce called "Decalin Runup Fuel Additive".

As I fly R/C gas powered models I am going to look into it for this use. Of course, its not legal for certified aircraft.

There is also an additive you can buy at Wal-Mart but I forget the name of it. It's used for two stroke boat engines(the ethonol cleans and dolutes the two stroke oil and causes major problems). It is also recommended for any small two stroke engines like weedeaters, chainsaws, lawn mowers, etc. Ethonol is bad stuff that is eventually going to cause major problems in anything with a gas engine.....makes perfect sense why our governments thinks it is part of the cure!!!!!

I saw that article as well, but the Decalin info page seems to tout it as a TCP substitute, for lead fouling, not anything to help with the issues of ethanol, or am I missing something?
