Attached are two pictures of a Taylorcraft compass.
We removed the Taylorcraft label expecting to find compensating adjustments, but there were no screws there to adjust. There is a metal piece that does not seem to move in any way that I could discern.
The Taylorcraft label had two drive screws holding it on besides the larger standard machine screw, so it appears that this label was not meant to come off very often.
Some member of the tribe please tell me how this compass was compensated? Are we missing some parts?

, it had a piece of wood with two holes sitting in there????? Called the guys at Keystone who had rebuilt it and asked WTH!? The answer is: get two small nails wrap each with a wire and touch the ends of the wire to opposite poles of a battery 9v. Once they are magnetized slip them into the holes in that 'metal piece' and push or pull them to the sweet spots you need to make the compass behave. Does your 'metal piece have two small holes on either end? Can't tell from the pic.
