Clipped-wing performance

What kind of cruise numbers would one get with a clipped wing with say 85-100HP? I wonder as it has always seemed futile to me getting a stock Tcraft to go faster because it appears to be designed for climb performance ie: an awful lot of excessive lift as speed increases.

You wont see a whole lot of cruise speed inprovement. Mine crused stock with a a-65 at about 95 mph before I clipped it. With a o-235 (118 HP) mine cruised at about 110 after I clipped it at about 2400rpm. I was really disappointed. But Duane Cole told me his cuised at about 120 with a c-90.

Wheel Pants - 3-5 mph likely if well designed with inside fairing as well
Cooling System - 3 mph+ likely if redesigned well for efficiency
Fairings (or better fairings) on ALL intersections - 2-3 mph likely
Aileron gap seals - 1-2 mph likely (causes other issues)
Large BN-1 STC spinner (and cowl fairing) - 1-2 mph likely
Better exhaust system (4 into 1 tuned) - 2-4 mph likely after prop repitch
Prop Tip re-shape (AMRD Cherokee mod) - 150 RPM / 2-3 mph

Still being able to slow down to 38 mph with the long wing before you hit that farmhouse after you ran out of gas - PRICELESS !
