So just who is this stranger sparing with Norm over the beacon issue?

My day job is 777 First Officer for United Airlines. I've been seeing a lot of Asia the last couple of years, but enough of that.

My first airplane was a C-170. We bought the airplane as a project when I was in college. It's purpose was to build time for my ratings. We had it for 5 years and I put 300 hours on it.

About 4 years later, a pre-war Aeronca Chief came into our lives. We flew it for a little over a year and about 60 hours. Then a house came into the picture so it went towards a down payment.

Next was a Fairchild 24. Two years and 50 hours later, it needed a restoration. Long story short, I traded it for a BC12-65. I was having certification issues with it. It was about that time that I found the mailing list. I've been lurking for over a year now.

I believe we've about licked the certification issues, and I am cautiously optomistic that I can finally take delivery of it within a month. At least I can hope. The DAR is supposed to look at it tomorrow. If all goes well, it will fly for the first time in over 50 years.

The airplane serial number is 3394. It is the sixth from the last BC12 off the line before the war. It's N number is 53500. That had Forrest scratching his head because he had no record of that number. I found out from an AOPA title search that it was originally registered as 39125. Maybe now you can find something, Forrest.

As you can see, my interest in airplanes lies in the antique/classic arena. Although, I am considering building an RV-7. (GASP!)

By the way, in the mean time, I bought a Cessna 195. I am currently having fun keeping that thing flying. Ah the joys of airplane ownership.

Anyway, thats about it. I just thought you would like to know who I am.
