Re: Help with Value
OK!
Thanks everybody, I think I have the info I need. Some wildly varying ideas, but as Forrest so aptly said, it's really between the individual buyer and seller.
There's no question the economy has effected the small airplane market, but the airplanes that seem to be holding up best are Taylorcrafts, Champs, Cubs, etc..
Just an aside, the engine was preserved with MMO and dehydrating plugs shortly after being removed and the replacement wing is in superb condition. Everything that was removed from this plane was tagged and/or boxed and tagged. It's not just a collection of parts.
By the way, if you think the airplane market is soft, try being a Chevrolet dealer (except in Texas). Truck values have dropped in HALF almost over night in some cases and the cars that everybody wants right now have gone through the roof. I can buy a USED Prius with 15,000 miles on it for $2K or $3K over new MSRP and still make a couple thousand on it. It doesn't make a sense, and it won't last, but that's the way it is right now.
Thanks,
V
