I just did a little calculation yesterday. When you go from 65 to 85 hp with the same engine those little ole fins, the exhaust, and the case, oil and such have to get rid of an additional 113 HP of heat. Had never considered the real numbers involved. That is using 15% efficiency which requires burning 133 HP of fuel for the additional 20 out. Subtract back the 20 the prop is dumping into the air and you get 113. That is a bunch of BTUs per minute. Too bad it requires so much heavy equipment and complication to get some of that energy back.
