Talked to my IA this morning about removing the old glue from the wings (my intention was to clean the wing up, then invite him in to tell me what had to be done).
I was moaning and complaining about how long it was taking and he said, simply give it a lick with MEK to feather the edges of the glue and then leave it alone; prime right over it. His logic was 'if it's sticking to the metal, that's good; and follow-on layers and tapes will hide the fact that I didn't get all the glue."
Check with your own IA, but does anyone see anything flawed in this logic?

PS: this follows the logic with primer; if the primer is adhering to the metal, there is no reason to try and take it off. I'm going to 2-part right over it anyway.
PPS: for everyone using stripper to remove paint/glue from the wings - remember it will also strip the varnish off the wood so be prepared to do a bit of touch-up.
