  • Gascolator

I recently purchased a new gascolator from Steves Aircraft. It did not come with a mounting bracket. I intend to mount it the same way the old one was mounted, hanging from a bracket off the engine mount by the nut that holds the primer line on. It worked in the past, just wondering if anyone has done it differently.

What do the directions say? On the J-3 and Champ it told you to use the old bracket and how to modify it.

      Re: Gascolator

I got a diagram of a bracket that fits a j3. We used the same bracket that was attached to the old gascolator, worked fine. Thanks.

Heads up on the O-Ring in the steavesaircraft gascolator.

Mine went soft, subseqently tore in two places, and left a gummy residue on the mating surface of the cup.

        The replacement o-ring is a metric 70NBR 41x2.

From now on I'll be carrying a spare!

        Cheers
