Re: 110 MPH Taylorcraft !?!?
That little red BC12 I work on and fly has no problem knocking off 110-112 MPH with an 85-8, brand new McCauley 71-48, wheel pants, well rigged and all varified with multiple GPS runs when I had it in December, running in the 2250-2300 RPM range. Flies hands off in flight, and rigged ailerons to trail in flight. And it climbs like a homesick angel. Amazed the hell out of me the first time I flew it with the new prop. And never fails to impress every flight since then. And at that speed the nose is well down giving great visibility forward.
