Oh, this is so timely. I was just wiping bugs and oil off the plane yesterday after a cross-country flight, and noticed that something was missing from the tailwheel springs that had been there when I preflighted. My rubber pad must have fallen out somewhere over northwest Iowa. Thanks guys - I'm phoning Univair tomorrow.
