  • New member-old question on Struts

Hi guys. I have recently bought another T-Craft. I had one in the 90s that I flew for years. I am trying to find somewhere to get the strut X-ray AD done in the Mississippi area. I took them to a prop shop in Memphis who said they could do it. They fooled with them for a month and then said they couldn't do it. Is there any where in the south east that knows how do the inspection. By the way, I clipped the wings on my first T-craft and flew airshows and IAC competition. I pulled -5 + 8 gs on a regular basis. I am also a mechanical engineer. This A/C-especially the struts are Much stronger than required. I can't imagine how much corrosion it would take to cause a strut to break. You sure would be able to see it by eye, I'm sure.

    Thanks Andy

    Andy,
The inspection process is probably easier and cheapere up in the Atlanta area. I do know that you will not want to try it in the Florida area - search older threads. Good luck.
