  • New help moving my junk

I have a "antique" generator in Britt, IA USA that I need to get shipped to Houston (or Tucson). Is there anyone in the area that could help coordinate getting it to a truck terminal? Its a pickup size load, about 1700lbs.

Please send me a PM if you can help or have a suggestion...

    Bob,

What did you buy? I am very much into the old generators. I have one in FL right now that I am trying to get trucked to WI. PM me or post a pic with details and I will post your request on the "hauling wanted" page of "HARRY'S OLD ENGINE PAGE".

You can post the load on a website called www.GetLoaded.com

You can indicate what you are willing to pay, or the truckers will bid to you.

We use it all the time at work for small LTL loads. You'd be surprised how cheap it can be, because if the trucker is already going there, and has a little space left, it's free money to him!! All profit.

          John,

All (4) are 1948-1952 Kohlers.....5kva and 10kva. One completely restored. I'm in the process of building a new shop (big enough to house NC20407) right now and (2) of these gensets are part of the layout/construction plan. Thanx for the tip on "getloaded.com", I just created an account and am anxious to use the service.

Hi Mike - its a fairbanks morse setup powered by a Ford Model B engine. Almost all original but a little fire damage from a fueling accident at the chicken house in Iowa, I got it to the ranch in AZ and its resting under cover for now.

I really l admire old generator sets too.
