Re: Is Harry in jail YET??

Those of you considering talking to the media might contact Meg Godlewski at General Aviation News. She's done a couple of articles on Harry, and interviewed me for one of them back in 2004. I'm pretty sure she's registered as a user of this forum as well.

Trust me that thought has crossed my mind, but got to pass on that as all that would do is get me in jail, and Harry a black eye, the whole deal is just a bad dream real bad dream

It has taken the wind out of my sail for sure, even considering the BC-12D
just not as much fun now, and all, been a very bad trip gentlemen

And one more thing and then I'll shut up. Ladies and Gents,, I strongly believe that there is a very good possiblity that we will see another S/B or A/D engineered against our A/C in the relative near future, for the general
purpose of profit for a defunct company. The most recent deal is just exactly that, and now we know also that the cart "REPLICA" or what the heck it was was that crashed Wiley was not even liscensed under the T/C it was experimental.

          Real deal folks

JS Hate Harry not the AC. 17 years of ownership has cost me less than 500 per year for AD compliance, repairs and maintenance. 2,000 for new struts and 4,000 for repairs that shouldn't have been needed. (My fault). Take those out and the cost goes way down per year. Its cost me way more to keep her in a hangar over the years than to keep her airworthy.

Point well taken, I agree, its not the A/C's fault that it fell ancestor to
Harry, but considering all the recent attached crap, the purchase of mine 3 years ago has become less fun, just kinda took the wind out of the sail so to speak. I agree, for the price and performance, they are about the best out there for the dollar value even given the recent history. What I'm really afraid of it what might come next, I mean a rash of stuff put out by profit
orientated criminals that apparently the FAA will buy into. thats what has my attention and some other operators as well.

                SAGA OF A DISASTER

You see folks, what I'm really torked off about is that I was lied to by the FAA inspector that was in charge of standards at Harrys operation. He is quoted as telling me that therewere 10 employees there building struts as we spoke, all welders were approved welders, "NOT CERTIFIED HOWEVER", and that all there was above board, all parts legal and the Taylorcraft factory had authorization to build those parts, "OF WHICH WE FIND LATER THAT THEY DIDN'T" or at least not totally approved. Next then when Harry didn't produce my parts or for that matter anyones parts, he also communicated that there was a small problem with some of the tubing, and so they had inspected again, and approve the use of that tubing. Next Harry tells a fellow crafter that he had new tubing on the way and would be building struts within a week, it went on and on. It was what Mr Perez said that helped sway me toward doing business with Harry initially, as I had contacted the MIDO in charge of Taylorcraft to originally research what was really going on there, in an attempt to qualify their production status etc. and to help put to bed my reservations about Harry. Had I gotten the truth about it I would have had time to not do the deal in the first place, thence later on to at least follow up at an earlier time and get money back, but? as a result I got bogus information I subsequently got screwed, sooooo as far as I'm concerned the FAA was involved with my loss whether they like it or not. Its disturbing that we have a government agency/administration that is "OUR EMPLOYEE" thats function is to keep the airways and aircraft of this nation safe, and to exhibit the highest standards of integrity. That just wasn't maintained in this case. No the whole FAA isn't corrupt, but there are factions in there that are. This inspector is now retired and to my knowledge is a DMI in that area and still could be involved with Taylorcraft Factory, not sure on that, but if he is, makes it stink even worse. Then to add insult to injury, in an attempt to get the straight scoop from the FAA and get some pressure applied on Harry to get of his can and get me some parts or at least on the top of the list, I contact my Senator, and all he gets back is a 4 page letter about how well the FAA is doing their job, how creditable Taylorcraft is, and how they have the authority to build those parts on and on and "How hard of a person I am to work with". Ya I'm miffed.
