I have heard many folks mention, "Whatever happened to Captain Jon". Well, life gets busy when you retire. But suffice it to say, that I highly recommended it at the earliest feasible opportunity.
Life is good here at the airpark in Florida. Traci T-Craft has gotten to fly just about every day that it wasn't raining or too windy since she got her new struts last month. But, being new to this area, she needs to find some friends to hang out with, so..........Announcing the establishment of the Southeastern Taylorcraft Network, STN for short!
Like the old NETN, the New England Taylorcraft Network, STN will be based around a webpage, http://tcraft.info/stn.htm , where members will share contact information about themselves and their T-Crafts in order to provide mutual support, information, and friendship. From time to time suggested public events will be listed on the page where fellow T-Crafters can get together to share experiences, knowledge, and fun.
The webpage can also be accessed through my other hobby page, "Captain Jon's Taylorcraft Hangar" http://tcraft.info under the MISC menu. Although under construction, "Captain Jon's" is still available and being worked on to bring it up to today's web standards. I encourage all Taylorcraft enthusiasts to visit "Captain Jon's" if you haven't been there in a while.
Last week I mailed invitations to all 137 other registered Taylorcraft owners in the state of Florida to join me at the Florida Sport Aviation Antique and Classic Association (FSAACA) fly-in to be held next weekend, March 14-16th, at our own Little River Field (FL10) in Mc Alpin, Florida. We are located about halfway between Jacksonville and Talahassee in the northern part of the state. The invitation is also extended to any Southeastern Taylorcraft enthusiast to join us for the weekend get-together. You may define "Southeast" as you wish, but STN is certainly not trying to take anything away from VTOC or the Texas group or anyone else. It is strictly an informal network to help T-Craft guys and gals further enjoy the experience of owning these wonderful machines.
So, come, join us on the web page, come to the fly-in, meet and share with other T-Craft folks. This is one more resource for all Taylorcraft enthusiasts, and a labor of love. Enjoy it and your airplane, and meet some new Taylorcraft friends.
Anyone desiring any more information on our STN, again, can visit it at http://tcraft.info/stn.htm , e-mail me at [email protected], or if you're visiting "Captain Jon's" just click on the T-Mail plane in the top left corner of the page.
Cheers,
"Captain Jon" Timlin
