When I twist my parking brake handle clockwize, it doesn't lock the cable. Is there something that needs to be replaced? Is there an adjustment to be made?
It is a simple device , look at it the teeth need filed and the little wire needs replaced, ONLY trust it to RUN across the ramp to get chocks , OR carry them with you.
Can't trust the parking Brake!
No I dont but I do this if needed.
I use a heavy load type bunge cord and hook it around the brakehandle and over to the stay by the door. Then pull the handle again and puch on the brake pedals.
My brakes will hold to 1100 - 1200 rpm what way.
Also the controls are tied up full back and trottle set and LOCKED!(;f
My trottle is set to give idle as I pull it full back, no fiddleiling to to find idle possition.
I use the above method when I can not find a starter or tie down the tail!

For starting without the tail tied down, I have two chocks with a line tied between them and a line from the left chock that I attach to the pilot door handle. One chock in front of each wheel. After starting I stand at the pilot's door and pull both of the chocks in and off we go. Some times I have to push back on the plane to relieve the tension on the chocks.
